🧊 Mission impossible: The polar vortex of 2026

The weekend of February 6-8, 2026 wasn’t just “cool”: it was historic.. With an arctic air mass bringing temperatures down to -42 celcius in some areas, the province was in survival mode..

While most people were wondering whether their car would start, our team was on the ground in Saint-Philippe and Sainte-Croix.. Why? Because our motto is “We operate summer and winter”..

Technical challenges

Operating inflatables in record-breaking cold is pure science:

  • Atmospheric pressure: Air density changes with the cold. To prevent structures from collapsing, our field expert Rajab had to juggle 50-foot extension cords to maintain a constant power supply and pressure..

  • Batteries in PLS: During the Sabres Laser animation, the batteries discharge at lightning speed..

🧥 The Human Factor: Animators in “Onion Mode

How do our guys keep smiling when their eyelashes freeze?

  1. The layering strategy: Staff rigorously apply the “several layers of clothing” system to avoid frostbite.

  2. Contagious energy: In Saint-Philippe, the host’s role was twofold: to ensure the thermal safety of participants, and to act as an energy catalyst to keep everyone moving..

  3. Rajab’s expertise: The linchpin of the operation, he supervised the sites to turn a logistical challenge into a total success.

🏒 Pro Secrets (We don’t tell you everything, but almost)

Did you know that for the Bubble Hockey activity, we have a protocol worthy of NASA?

  • A warm night’s sleep: Every evening, the bubbles must be deflated and stored in a heated room..

  • Why? To avoid crystallization of the plastic and ensure that they remain flexible and safe for the next day..

  • Post-match maintenance: On return, all condensation (the humidity from the cold/warm transition) must be evacuated before folding the material to avoid damaging the PVC..

❄️ TOP 5: Games that brave the polar vortex ❄️

1. The Sabres Laser Experience ⚔️

  • Why it wins: Unlike inflatables, there’s no risk of PVC embrittlement due to freezing..

  • The logistical challenge: Extreme cold leads to accelerated battery discharge.

  • Pro secret: Keep participants in constant motion to convert kinetic energy into body heat..

2. Bulle Hockey (winter version) 🏒

  • Why it wins: Designed for sliding, it offers an optimal experience on ice or snow..

  • The logistical challenge: Bubble plastic can crystallize and become brittle.

  • Pro secret: We give our bubbles a “warm sleep” in a heated room every evening to keep them supple and ready for the next day..

3. The Pop-Up Zone (Giant Games) 🧩

  • Why it wins: With games such as Giant Power 4 and Jenga, this zone offers an unbeatable impact/logistics ratio..

  • The logistical challenge: Agility is key to rapid installation.

  • Pro secret: Ideal for fast transitions, such as in Gatineau, where everything has to be installed in less than two hours..

4. Inflatable Curling 🥌

  • Why it wins: The ultimate winter festival theme activity.

  • The logistical challenge: Blower fans risk icing up due to humidity.

  • Pro secret: Constant monitoring of electrical connections is necessary to avoid structural collapse due to changes in cold air density..

5. The Archer Game 🏹

  • Why it wins: It’s a socially engaged activity that requires a lot of space ($50 \times $70 feet), perfect for snowy parks..

  • The logistical challenge: Set-up takes about 1.5 hours in normal conditions, but takes longer in windy conditions..

  • Pro secret: We use modular zones to adapt to the constraints of each municipality..

🚀 Next stop: Gatineau and the Valentine’s Day rush

If you think we’re going to take it easy, think again! Saturday, February 14 promises to be epic, with eight simultaneous events across Quebec and Ontario.

Biggest challenge? Gatineau (Orkestra Festival). We had to set up two major inflatable games in less than two hours on a site that served as a dance floor until midnight the night before.. That’s what “Les Gars des Jeux” agility is all about!

Note to customers: We’re flexible, but we think ahead! In the event of force majeure weather conditions, we won’t let you down: a 50% credit is granted for reprogramming your fun within 12 months..

See you on the field (probably with a hot chocolate in hand)!
