Mission accomplished: A look back at the miners’ epic Christmas in Nunavut
A few weeks ago, we told you about our “Operation Logistics Extreme”: the colossal challenge of bringing a turnkey event to Nunavut for Agnico Eagle employees.
The truck braved the icy roads, the plane took off, and our team landed in the Far North. The pressure was on, but the result exceeded all expectations. Today, we’re no longer talking logistics, but magic.
“From the depths of our frozen hearts”: The customer’s verdict
Nothing gives us greater pleasure than to see a complex vision become reality. The goal was not just to deliver games, but to deliver human warmth and entertainment in one of the world’s harshest environments.
We were touched to receive this message from the organizing team after the event:
“Hello Game Guys Team! We wanted to thank you all from the bottom of our freezing cold hearts for the fantastic collaboration! You have all been so easy and fun to work with from A to Z. There were so many elements and details to pull together and you all helped my vision come to life and I could not be prouder. The animators who came out were so fantastic, we really loved their energy and eagerness to deliver a solid event (which they did).”
This testimonial validates our philosophy: no matter how remote or complex, it’s the energy of our team and the fluidity of our collaboration that make the difference.
Back in images: An unforgettable “Glow in the Dark” evening
The event transformed the gymnasium into a futuristic, festive arcade. Here’s a glimpse of a Christmas like no other:
1. Santa at the turntables Forget the sleigh, on this night Santa was in control of the dancefloor. From behind his console, he set the musical mood all evening long, proving that the holiday spirit fits perfectly with the “Glow” theme.
2. The Competitive Gaming Zone The installation of our giant screens made for some wild tournaments. Whether on the Mario Kart racetrack or comfortably ensconced in sofas for a game on Switch, miners were able to unwind and enjoy some friendly competition.
3. Sweet and bright To accompany the adrenaline, there was nothing like a cotton candy station. Guests enjoyed the sweet treats, adding a sweet touch to the smiles captured in front of our neon backdrops.
4. Action and immersion Interaction was at the heart of the evening. Between the lightsaber duels, perfectly in tune with the luminous theme, and the arcade shooting games, there was no downtime.
